These Terms of Use are a legally binding agreement. Please read them carefully, especially the sections concerning real-world activities, safety, user-generated content, account enforcement, disclaimers, liability, and disputes.
1. About SportsPal
These Terms are between you and SportsPal – Local Activities (referred to as “SportsPal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Email: sportspalapplication@gmail.com
Website: https://sportspalapp.com
The word “Service” means the SportsPal mobile applications, website, software, features, communications, and related services, including activities, profiles, SportsPals connections, posts, clubs, tournaments, chats, routes, live GPS and offline route tools, activity weather, calendars, recommendations, SportsPal Pass, and any later feature expressly made subject to these Terms.
These Terms apply between SportsPal and every person who accesses or uses the Service. If you use the Service for a club, team, business, association, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization; “you” then includes both you and that organization. If you do not have that authority, you may use the Service only in your personal capacity.
2. The agreement and related policies
By creating an account, clicking an acceptance button, or accessing or using the Service after being given a reasonable opportunity to review these Terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
The following rules also apply:
- the SportsPal Community Guidelines;
- the SportsPal Privacy Policy;
- any clear feature-specific rules, safety notices, organizer conditions, promotion rules, or purchase terms shown before you use the relevant feature.
The Community Guidelines form part of these Terms. The Privacy Policy explains how and why personal data is processed; use of the Service is not treated as consent where another legal basis is required by applicable data-protection law.
If feature-specific terms conflict with these Terms, the feature-specific terms control only for that feature. Mandatory rights under applicable law always prevail.
3. Eligibility: SportsPal is for adults only
You may create an account or use the Service only if all of the following are true:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you have legal capacity to enter into this agreement;
- you are not prohibited by applicable law from using the Service;
- you are not subject to sanctions or restrictions that would make our provision of the Service unlawful; and
- SportsPal has not previously permanently removed you, unless we have expressly authorized your return in writing.
SportsPal is not directed to children. Parental permission does not make an under-18 user eligible. If we reasonably believe an account belongs to a person under 18, we may suspend or delete it and take appropriate steps regarding the associated data.
You must not create an account for a minor or knowingly submit a minor’s name, image, contact details, location, roster information, or other personal data to the Service. A club or tournament must not use SportsPal to register or publicly list under-18 participants.
By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and will stop using the Service immediately if you cease to meet them.
4. Accounts, profile information, and security
You must provide accurate, current information and keep it reasonably up to date. You must not misrepresent your identity, age, qualifications, fitness level, skill, affiliation, organizer status, location, availability, or authority to represent another person or organization.
Unless SportsPal expressly permits otherwise:
- one person may maintain only one personal account;
- an account may not be sold, licensed, rented, shared, transferred, or used by another person;
- credentials and verification codes must be kept confidential; and
- automated or bulk account creation is prohibited.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account to the extent it results from your acts or omissions. Notify us promptly at sportspalapplication@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access, account compromise, or misuse. We may require email, device, telephone, age, identity, organization, or other proportionate verification when reasonably necessary for security, safety, fraud prevention, rights protection, or legal compliance. A verification process or badge is a limited signal, not a guarantee.
We may reject, change, or reclaim a username, club name, tournament name, badge, or identifier that impersonates another person, violates rights, creates confusion, is misleading, is inactive for an extended period, or violates these Terms.
5. What SportsPal is—and is not
SportsPal is a technology platform that helps adults discover, create, organize, join, and discuss real-world sports and fitness activities. Users—not SportsPal—normally create and control activities, clubs, tournaments, routes, rosters, fees, rules, and offline interactions.
Unless an activity is clearly identified in the Service as an official event organized by SportsPal:
- SportsPal is not the host, organizer, promoter, venue operator, coach, trainer, referee, tour guide, transport provider, employer, agent, insurer, governing body, or contracting party for it;
- SportsPal does not supervise attendance or conduct at it;
- joining in the app does not reserve a venue, guarantee admission, create insurance, or confirm that the activity will occur as described;
- no agency, partnership, joint venture, franchise, employment, fiduciary, or professional relationship is created between SportsPal and any user, club, organizer, or participant; and
- users have no authority to make promises, warranties, commitments, or representations on SportsPal’s behalf.
We do not guarantee that the Service will produce a suitable activity, participant, team, route, organizer, opponent, venue, or result. We do not guarantee attendance, compatibility, conduct, skill level, competitive fairness, or the accuracy of user-provided information.
6. Hosts, club administrators, and tournament organizers
If you create, host, administer, promote, or manage an activity, club, team, tournament, roster, route, or related community (“Organizer”), you are solely responsible for it and for complying with applicable law.
An Organizer must:
- provide complete, accurate, non-misleading information, including the activity type, date, time, meeting point, venue, expected duration, skill or eligibility requirements, participant limit, accessibility information known to the Organizer, material risks, required equipment, and all mandatory or optional costs;
- promptly communicate material changes, delays, hazards, cancellations, participant removals, and refund arrangements;
- obtain every permission, permit, booking, license, authorization, sanction, landowner consent, governing-body approval, and insurance required for the activity;
- use appropriately qualified and legally authorized personnel whenever coaching, medical support, safeguarding, officiating, guiding, transport, or another regulated or safety-critical service is provided;
- conduct a reasonable risk assessment, choose a reasonably suitable location, establish proportionate emergency arrangements, and follow venue rules, sport rules, public-health requirements, weather warnings, and instructions from competent authorities;
- manage participation fairly and consistently with the stated rules, including roster, division, age, gender, classification, disability, skill, equipment, anti-doping, and competition requirements where applicable;
- respect privacy and data-protection law, particularly if the Organizer exports, copies, records, photographs, contacts, or otherwise processes participant information outside SportsPal;
- have all necessary rights to use club names, logos, photos, music, tournament materials, sponsor assets, and other content;
- make clear that the activity is independently organized and must not describe it as “official,” “approved,” “verified,” “insured,” or “safe” by SportsPal unless SportsPal has expressly authorized that exact statement in writing;
- avoid discrimination prohibited by law while applying only legitimate, clearly disclosed participation criteria; and
- cooperate in good faith with safety reports, lawful requests, and proportionate SportsPal enforcement concerning the Organizer’s activity.
An Organizer must not create an activity that is unlawful, fraudulent, dangerously misdescribed, intended to facilitate violence or exploitation, or beyond the Organizer’s lawful competence. SportsPal may request evidence of authority, insurance, permissions, qualifications, identity, or organization status and may restrict or remove an activity if that evidence is not provided.
The Organizer, not SportsPal, decides whether to admit or remove a participant, except that SportsPal may separately restrict access to the Service or remove content under these Terms.
7. Participants and attendance
If you join or attend an activity, you are responsible for deciding whether it is appropriate for you. Before participating, you must make a reasonable assessment of the activity, Organizer, venue, route, conditions, rules, required skill, equipment, travel, costs, and risks.
You agree to:
- provide truthful information relevant to eligibility and safe participation;
- disclose to the Organizer any information that applicable law or the disclosed activity rules lawfully require, without posting unnecessary sensitive information publicly;
- obtain professional medical advice where appropriate and not participate if illness, injury, impairment, intoxication, medication, inexperience, environmental conditions, or equipment make participation unsafe;
- use suitable, maintained equipment and legally required protective gear;
- follow applicable law, venue rules, sport rules, reasonable Organizer instructions, emergency instructions, and official warnings;
- respect other participants, officials, venue staff, residents, landowners, and the public;
- arrange your own transport, supervision, insurance, entry permission, visas, licenses, and emergency contact arrangements; and
- leave or seek help if you reasonably believe a situation is unsafe.
A displayed “joined,” “going,” roster, calendar, pass, QR code, or notification status is informational. It does not guarantee attendance, eligibility, admission, check-in, a place on a team, or the Organizer’s acceptance unless the Organizer clearly confirms otherwise.
8. Clubs, teams, tournaments, and competitive information
Clubs, teams, and tournaments are user-created spaces. Their administrators may set lawful membership, roster, eligibility, conduct, competition, and removal rules, provided those rules are clearly communicated and comply with these Terms and applicable law.
SportsPal may transfer, rename, archive, restrict, or remove a club or tournament, or adjust administrator access, where reasonably necessary to resolve impersonation, conflicting ownership claims, abandonment, rights violations, security risks, legal obligations, or serious policy breaches. We may request evidence before doing so and do not guarantee resolution of private ownership disputes.
Tournament dates, divisions, rosters, eligibility, standings, brackets, scores, officials, rules, prizes, and results are normally supplied or controlled by users. SportsPal does not certify their accuracy, integrity, regulatory status, or recognition by a sport governing body. Disputes about selection, eligibility, officiating, scoring, prizes, cancellations, or results are between the relevant Organizer, club, team, and participants unless SportsPal has expressly assumed responsibility in separate written terms.
Gambling, unlicensed betting, unlawful prize competitions, match manipulation, bribery, performance-enhancing drug trafficking, and fraudulent results are prohibited.
9. Fees, venues, goods, and transactions between users
SportsPal does not currently charge a mandatory subscription or account fee. A venue, Organizer, club, tournament, coach, merchant, or other third party may independently require payment or sell goods or services. Unless SportsPal expressly identifies itself as the seller at checkout:
- SportsPal does not collect, hold, guarantee, insure, or control that payment;
- the transaction is directly between you and the third party;
- the third party is responsible for prices, taxes, invoices, consumer information, cancellations, refunds, delivery, quality, safety, legality, and warranties; and
- SportsPal is not responsible for cash, bank transfer, payment-link, or other off-platform transactions.
Organizers must disclose all known mandatory charges before a person joins and must not use hidden fees, deceptive pricing, unauthorized recurring charges, or payment pressure. Users should verify the recipient and refund rules before paying. Never send money, financial credentials, identity documents, or security codes in response to suspicious requests.
SportsPal may restrict commercial solicitation, fundraising, sponsorship, ticketing, coaching offers, product sales, or other business use unless the relevant feature expressly permits it or SportsPal has approved it in writing.
10. User Content
“User Content” means anything a user submits, creates, uploads, imports, sends, records, publishes, or makes available through the Service, including profile information, usernames, biographies, social links, photos, videos, audio, posts, comments, reactions, ratings, messages, activity listings, club and tournament materials, badges, rosters, results, reports, GPX files, drawn routes, and route data.
You retain any ownership rights you have in your User Content. You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of sharing it.
You represent and warrant that:
- you created the User Content or have every right, permission, license, and consent needed to submit it and grant the rights in these Terms;
- it is accurate where it presents facts relevant to safety, identity, eligibility, pricing, location, or an activity;
- it does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, personality, database, confidentiality, contractual, or other rights;
- it does not contain another person’s personal data, image, voice, route, health information, location, or confidential information without a lawful basis and any required permission;
- it complies with law, these Terms, and the Community Guidelines; and
- its use by SportsPal as permitted by these Terms will not require SportsPal to pay royalties, residuals, union fees, or other amounts to anyone.
Do not upload information you consider secret or highly confidential. Messages are not guaranteed to be end-to-end encrypted. Recipients may save, copy, forward, screenshot, or misuse content despite contractual or technical restrictions. SportsPal cannot prevent every such action.
11. License you grant to SportsPal
To operate the Service, you grant SportsPal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, format, adapt for technical purposes, translate, transmit, display, perform, distribute, moderate, scan, and otherwise use your User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide and personalize the Service in accordance with your settings and actions;
- display content to the audiences you selected or reasonably expected;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
- create technical previews, thumbnails, route renderings, accessibility formats, backups, and interoperable outputs;
- prevent, detect, investigate, and act on fraud, abuse, safety threats, policy violations, and illegal content;
- comply with law and enforce or defend legal rights; and
- promote SportsPal by displaying public User Content in the context in which it was publicly shared, provided that any materially different advertising use of a person’s image or endorsement will require additional permission where required by law.
This license includes the right to use the profile name, username, image, club identity, or likeness that accompanies the User Content to attribute it as the Service normally does. It does not transfer ownership to SportsPal.
The license ends when the relevant User Content is deleted from active systems, subject to reasonable technical processing time and the following limited exceptions: cached or backup copies; content retained for security, evidence, legal compliance, dispute handling, or rights protection; content another user has independently shared or incorporated into a conversation or collaborative space; and public routes, club records, tournament records, or similar community materials that need to remain available for continuity, attribution, safety, or record integrity. Any continued use must remain limited to those purposes and applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, you waive or agree not to assert moral rights only as necessary for the uses expressly authorized above. You grant other users a limited, non-transferable right to access and interact with your User Content through the Service as permitted by the product features, your settings, and these Terms. This does not permit users to exploit it outside the Service.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or product ideas, you grant SportsPal a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use them without restriction or compensation. Do not submit confidential ideas.
12. Public visibility, routes, and sharing
Content marked public—or placed in an inherently public area—may be visible to users, non-users, search engines, and people receiving a shared link. Content in a restricted club, activity, or chat is intended for the relevant audience but must not be treated as absolutely private.
Routes and activity locations may reveal sensitive patterns such as a home, workplace, routine, remote position, or future absence. Before sharing, you must review the route, meeting point, metadata, photos, and visibility settings. You must have the right to share a route and must not use route tools to expose, track, stalk, trespass on, or endanger anyone.
Deleting content may not remove copies lawfully saved or independently created by others. Privacy settings reduce visibility but do not guarantee confidentiality, security, or anonymity.
13. Prohibited content and conduct
You must comply with the Community Guidelines. You must not use or attempt to use the Service to:
- threaten, harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, shame, blackmail, extort, assault, exploit, groom, dox, or endanger any person;
- promote, praise, coordinate, or facilitate terrorism, violent extremism, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, suicide encouragement, credible violence, or other serious harm;
- post pornography, explicit sexual content, non-consensual intimate content, sexual services, fetish content, or content that sexualizes or exploits a person;
- attack or dehumanize people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious disease, or another protected characteristic;
- impersonate another person or organization, create a false identity, falsify qualifications or affiliations, or mislead users about an activity, venue, route, cost, product, sponsorship, verification, or risk;
- commit or facilitate fraud, phishing, identity theft, money laundering, spam, pyramid schemes, fake giveaways, unauthorized fundraising, counterfeit sales, illegal gambling, match fixing, doping distribution, drug sales, weapons sales, or other unlawful commerce;
- share personal, confidential, financial, health, identity, contact, or precise-location information about another person without lawful authority;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, database, confidentiality, or contractual rights;
- upload malware, malicious code, corrupted files, or content intended to disrupt, damage, monitor, or gain unauthorized access to devices, accounts, data, or networks;
- scrape, crawl, index, harvest, export, broker, sell, train models on, or systematically collect profiles, routes, messages, images, identifiers, or Service data without written authorization;
- use bots, scripts, emulators, unauthorized clients, automated messages, fake engagement, account farms, location spoofing, or techniques that manipulate discovery, attendance, ratings, reports, rosters, results, or platform metrics;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, probe, bypass, defeat, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security, access controls, rate limits, APIs, moderation, or technical protections, except to the limited extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
- use another user’s content or contact information for unsolicited marketing, recruitment, research, surveillance, discrimination, credit, insurance, employment, housing, or eligibility decisions;
- encourage users to move to an external service for fraud, evasion, harassment, prohibited content, or avoidance of safety controls;
- file knowingly false, malicious, discriminatory, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded reports or appeals;
- evade a suspension, block, restriction, or ban by creating another account or using another person’s account; or
- engage off-platform in serious misconduct connected to a SportsPal interaction or activity where the conduct creates a credible safety, integrity, or legal risk to users or the Service.
This list is not exhaustive. Conduct that is functionally equivalent or creates a comparable safety, integrity, legal, or operational risk may also violate these Terms.
14. Real-world safety and assumption of inherent risk
Meeting unfamiliar people and participating in sports, exercise, competition, travel, outdoor recreation, and public events involves inherent and sometimes serious risks. These may include collision, falls, overexertion, dehydration, equipment failure, traffic, terrain, altitude, water, animals, crime, communicable illness, weather exposure, property damage, permanent disability, and death.
You knowingly and voluntarily choose whether to communicate, meet, organize, travel, or participate. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you accept the risks inherent in your chosen activity and your interactions with users and third parties. This does not waive liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from SportsPal’s own fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or other non-excludable responsibility.
Use reasonable precautions. Meet in appropriate public or established venues when possible, tell a trusted person your plan, verify essential details independently, control your own transport, protect valuables and personal information, do not send money to strangers, and contact local emergency services or competent authorities when needed.
SportsPal is not an emergency monitoring service. Reports, messages, live GPS, notifications, and location features are not monitored continuously and must never replace contacting emergency services. In the European Union, the general emergency number is 112; elsewhere, use the applicable local emergency number.
15. Health, fitness, and professional advice
SportsPal does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, physiotherapy, coaching certification, legal advice, emergency response, or individualized health advice. Content, difficulty labels, gear suggestions, activity descriptions, ratings, and user messages are general or user-supplied information.
You are responsible for understanding your health, fitness, skill, and limitations. Seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional before beginning or changing an activity where your condition, symptoms, pregnancy, medication, disability, injury, age, or the intensity of the activity makes advice appropriate. Stop and seek help if you experience warning signs or an unsafe condition.
No profile claim, badge, title, review, or user statement proves that a person is a licensed healthcare professional, coach, guide, referee, or other qualified provider. Verify credentials directly with the relevant professional or regulator.
16. Maps, routes, live GPS, offline tools, weather, directions, and gear
Map, GPX, drawn-route, elevation, distance, live GPS, offline route, directions, calendar, weather, and gear features are convenience tools and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or unsuitable for current conditions. A line on a map does not prove legal access, public access, safety, passability, lighting, maintenance, accessibility, or the absence of hazards.
You must independently check official weather alerts, emergency warnings, trail and road status, tides, avalanche or wildfire risk, venue access, land restrictions, transport information, and local conditions. Do not rely on SportsPal as your sole navigation method, particularly in remote, high-risk, water, mountain, traffic, or low-connectivity environments. Carry appropriate navigation, communication, power, water, clothing, safety equipment, and backup plans.
GPS can drift or fail; downloaded content can become outdated; weather can change rapidly; directions may route through unsafe or restricted areas; and calendar or notification delivery may fail. SportsPal does not guarantee rescue, tracking, location sharing, route completion, arrival, or warning delivery.
“SportsPal Picks,” venue information, ratings, weather advice, and gear suggestions do not constitute certification, sponsorship, professional advice, or a warranty. Products and venues may be provided by third parties; check their terms, instructions, recalls, warnings, suitability, and safety information.
Some product or venue links may be sponsored or affiliate links. Where SportsPal may receive a commission or other benefit, the commercial relationship will be disclosed as required by law. Any such relationship does not change your price unless clearly stated and does not turn a suggestion into a safety endorsement.
17. Identity, badges, SportsPal Pass, and background checks
SportsPal does not routinely conduct criminal-record, sex-offender-register, professional-license, medical, identity-document, or other background checks on users. We do not guarantee a user’s identity, age, history, intentions, qualifications, physical condition, legitimacy, or conduct.
We may offer or use email confirmation, device checks, profile signals, SportsPal Pass, QR links, badges, organizer information, or third-party verification. These tools are limited signals only. They are not government identification, a background check, a safety certificate, proof of attendance, proof of membership, or a guarantee. A QR code or pass can be copied, shared, expired, altered, or displayed by another person.
You remain responsible for using judgment and appropriate precautions whether or not a badge or check appears. SportsPal may grant, deny, revoke, or change a badge or verification status where reasonably necessary and may avoid disclosing details that would compromise safety, privacy, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
18. Location and device permissions
If you grant location permission or use a location feature, SportsPal may process approximate or precise location as described in the Privacy Policy to provide discovery, distances, maps, routes, live GPS, weather, directions, safety, security, and anti-abuse functions. Your activity meeting point, route, or content may disclose an exact location because you chose to publish or share it.
You can change device permissions in system settings, but some features may then be limited or unavailable. Location signals can be inaccurate. Do not spoof location or use location features to track, infer, expose, or harm another person.
Camera, photo, microphone, notification, calendar, and wallet permissions are optional unless clearly required for a feature you choose. You are responsible for content you add to a device calendar or wallet and for controlling access to your device.
19. Content moderation and enforcement
SportsPal may use user reports, automated systems, technical signals, and human review to detect, review, prioritize, restrict, or remove content and conduct. We may act where we reasonably believe there is a violation of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, law, third-party rights, safety requirements, or platform integrity.
Depending on context, severity, history, risk, and applicable law, action may include:
- reducing distribution or recommendation;
- applying a warning, label, age gate, visibility limit, feature limit, or content removal;
- restricting invitations, posts, messaging, joining, hosting, club administration, tournament administration, routes, wallet passes, or other features;
- pausing an activity, club, tournament, or account;
- removing administrator privileges or transferring control where justified;
- temporary suspension or permanent termination;
- preventing account recreation; and
- preserving or disclosing information and referring a matter to competent authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary to address a credible emergency or serious unlawful conduct.
We do not undertake to pre-screen all content or monitor all chats, activities, or offline conduct. Failure to act in one case is not approval and does not prevent later action. We may consider relevant off-platform conduct when it is connected to SportsPal and creates a credible risk.
Where required by law, we will provide a statement of reasons for a restriction and information about available remedies. We may withhold or limit details where disclosure would be unlawful, compromise an investigation or security measure, enable abuse, or risk another person’s rights or safety.
20. Reporting illegal or prohibited content
You can report a user or content through the in-app reporting tools. You may also email sportspalapplication@gmail.com with the subject “Illegal Content Notice” or “Safety Report.”
To help us act accurately, a notice should include:
- your name and email address, except where the law permits an anonymous notice;
- a sufficiently explained reason why the content or conduct is illegal or violates these Terms;
- the exact location of the content in the Service, such as the username, activity, club, tournament, chat, post, route, date, and any available link or screenshot;
- any relevant country or legal basis known to you;
- supporting information reasonably available to you; and
- a good-faith statement that the information is accurate and complete.
For immediate danger, suspected child exploitation, terrorism, credible violence, or another emergency, contact the competent authorities first. An in-app report or email is not an emergency call.
We may acknowledge a sufficiently precise notice and communicate our decision where required by law. Notices are assessed objectively and in good faith, but a report does not guarantee removal. We may request clarification. We may act against users who repeatedly submit manifestly unfounded, fraudulent, abusive, or discriminatory notices.
21. Appeals and EU Digital Services Act information
If SportsPal removes your content, restricts its visibility, limits monetization if later offered, suspends a feature, or suspends or terminates your account, you may appeal through any in-app appeal tool made available or by emailing sportspalapplication@gmail.com with the subject “Content or Account Appeal.” Include your account email, username, the affected content or decision, and a concise explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect.
We may verify identity and may reject duplicate, abusive, fraudulent, or insufficiently specific appeals. Appeals will be reviewed in a timely, diligent, non-discriminatory, and non-arbitrary manner where required by applicable law. A person involved only through automated means will not make the final decision where human review is legally required.
For recipients in the European Union, rights under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act) apply where applicable. Eligible complaints under the required internal complaint system may be submitted free of charge for at least six months after the relevant decision. Users may also have access to a certified out-of-court dispute-settlement body and to judicial remedies. SportsPal will engage with certified bodies as required by law. These options do not limit the right to contact the competent Digital Services Coordinator or a court.
The single electronic contact point for users and authorities concerning the Digital Services Act is sportspalapplication@gmail.com. Communications may be made in English or Greek.
22. Recommendations, ranking, and personalization
SportsPal may rank or recommend activities, people, posts, clubs, tournaments, routes, venues, or gear. The main parameters may include the sport or activity selected, location and distance, date and time, availability, recency, stated preferences, language, participation and connection signals, club membership, popularity, content quality, safety signals, and prior interaction with the Service. The relative importance of these parameters depends on the feature; location, time, selected sport, and explicit filters generally carry substantial weight in nearby activity discovery.
Recommendations are not endorsements or safety assessments. You can influence results through filters, location permissions, preferences, SportsPals and club choices, and other controls made available in the relevant screen. Some chronological, nearby, or filtered views may be offered where technically appropriate.
We may reduce or exclude content from recommendations for relevance, quality, duplication, inactivity, safety, integrity, or policy reasons even if the content remains accessible elsewhere.
23. Blocking, messaging, and communications
Blocking is a user-control tool, not a guarantee that two people will never encounter each other, particularly in shared clubs, group activities, public spaces, or through a new account. Do not evade a block or contact a person through alternate accounts or channels after they have clearly asked you to stop.
You may receive service communications needed to operate your account, such as security, legal, moderation, activity, club, tournament, chat, route, and account notices. These are not marketing messages. Push, email, wallet, and calendar delivery can be delayed or fail; check important arrangements independently.
Marketing communications will be sent only as permitted by law. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it without affecting core use of the Service. Device settings, in-app settings, and unsubscribe tools control applicable communications.
24. Privacy and preservation
The Privacy Policy explains SportsPal’s collection, use, sharing, international transfers, retention, and protection of personal data, as well as available rights. Review it before using the Service.
SportsPal may access, preserve, and disclose account information or User Content when reasonably necessary and lawful to:
- comply with a valid legal request, court order, or legal obligation;
- investigate and enforce these Terms;
- detect, prevent, or address fraud, security incidents, abuse, or illegal activity;
- respond to support, rights, and safety reports;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of SportsPal, users, or the public; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Nothing in these Terms expands SportsPal’s right to process personal data beyond applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
25. Limited license to use the Service
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, SportsPal grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use the official app and access the Service for its intended purposes on devices you own or control and as permitted by the applicable app-store rules.
No rights are granted except those expressly stated. SportsPal and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, including software, code, databases, designs, interfaces, graphics, motion, text, sounds, trademarks, logos, recommendation systems, and aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you.
You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, create derivative works from, publicly display, commercially exploit, or make unauthorized access to the Service, except where applicable law expressly allows an activity despite this restriction.
26. Third-party services and content
The Service may interoperate with third-party services such as Apple, Google, Facebook, Firebase, maps, directions, weather providers, calendar services, wallet services, analytics, crash reporting, venues, merchants, product links, and social networks. Third-party terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
SportsPal does not control and is not responsible for a third party’s availability, accuracy, security, content, products, services, conduct, charges, or data practices. A link, integration, map result, venue listing, product suggestion, or compatibility statement does not constitute endorsement or a warranty. You are responsible for reviewing third-party terms before use.
Third-party content may be changed or removed without notice. SportsPal is not responsible for loss caused solely by a third party, except to the extent SportsPal remains liable under mandatory law for its own acts or choices.
27. Current free access and any future paid features
The current Service can be downloaded and used without a mandatory SportsPal subscription. We may later introduce optional paid features, subscriptions, virtual items, promotions, or transaction services, but we will not charge you merely because these Terms mention that possibility.
Before any purchase, SportsPal will display the seller, total price, currency, taxes where applicable, essential features, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation method, refund rights, and any additional purchase terms required by law. A recurring charge requires your affirmative purchase authorization.
Purchases through Apple App Store or Google Play are also subject to the store’s billing and refund rules. Deleting the app or your SportsPal account does not automatically cancel an external app-store subscription; any future purchase screen will explain how to manage it.
Consumers retain mandatory cancellation, conformity, refund, and digital-service rights. Where a consumer expressly requests immediate performance of paid digital content or services during a statutory withdrawal period, any loss of the withdrawal right or proportionate payment obligation applies only if the legally required disclosures, consent, and acknowledgment were obtained.
28. SportsPal intellectual property
SportsPal’s name, logos, visual identity, app, website, software, and original materials are protected by intellectual-property and unfair-competition laws. Except for the limited license in these Terms, you receive no ownership or license.
You may not use SportsPal branding in a manner that implies sponsorship, certification, partnership, verification, or official status without written permission. You may truthfully state that an independently organized activity is listed on SportsPal if the statement is accurate and does not imply endorsement.
29. Intellectual-property notices
If you reasonably believe content in the Service infringes copyright, trademark, or another intellectual-property right, email sportspalapplication@gmail.com with the subject “Intellectual Property Notice.” Include:
- your full name and reliable contact details;
- identification of the protected work, mark, or right;
- identification and exact Service location of the material complained of;
- an explanation of the claimed infringement;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is unauthorized by the rightsholder, its agent, or law;
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rightsholder or authorized to act for the rightsholder; and

We may forward the notice and relevant contact information to the affected user where lawful. That user may submit a response or counter-notice with supporting information. SportsPal may remove or restore material after a good-faith review and may terminate repeat or serious infringers. False or abusive notices may result in liability and account action.
30. Suspension, termination, and account deletion
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account through the in-app deletion function. You may also request assistance at sportspalapplication@gmail.com from the email associated with the account. Data will then be handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
SportsPal may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account or feature where reasonably necessary because of:
- an actual or reasonably suspected breach of these Terms or law;
- a credible safety, fraud, security, rights, or platform-integrity risk;
- serious or repeated harmful conduct connected to SportsPal, including offline conduct;
- a lawful request or legal obligation;
- non-payment of a future paid service;
- prolonged inactivity where continued storage is no longer reasonable, after notice where appropriate; or
- discontinuation of the Service or relevant feature.
Urgent action may occur without advance notice. Otherwise, SportsPal will provide reasonable notice where practicable and required. Termination does not erase accrued rights, obligations, evidence, transactions, or provisions that by their nature should survive, including content responsibilities, limited surviving licenses, safety terms, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, dispute provisions, and general terms.
If SportsPal discontinues the entire Service, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practicable and handle personal data under the Privacy Policy and law.
31. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the Service, address security or abuse, comply with law, adapt to third-party dependencies, or make reasonable business changes. We will not remove a paid consumer entitlement during its committed period without providing the remedy required by applicable law.
We may update these Terms. The updated version will show a new effective date. For a material change, we will provide reasonable advance notice by email, in-app notice, or another durable or prominent method where required. Changes apply prospectively.
Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law. We will request affirmative acceptance where law requires it or where a change materially affects core rights, paid obligations, dispute terms, or liability. If you do not accept, you must stop using the affected Service and may delete your account before the change takes effect.
32. Service availability and warranty disclaimer
SportsPal aims to provide a reliable Service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, outages, attacks, bugs, device limitations, connectivity, third-party failures, legal requirements, and events beyond our control may affect availability or data delivery.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the free Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” SportsPal does not warrant that the Service, User Content, routes, weather, maps, users, activities, clubs, tournaments, venues, products, notifications, or results will be accurate, complete, current, secure, lawful, suitable, available, or free of harmful components.
For consumers, this section does not exclude statutory rights or legal guarantees that cannot be waived, including mandatory rights relating to digital services. Any commercial guarantee given in a specific paid offer will be stated separately and will not reduce statutory rights.
33. Limitation of SportsPal’s liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. In particular, nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, breach of mandatory data-protection obligations, or any other non-waivable consumer right.
Subject to that rule, SportsPal is not responsible merely because the Service was used to discover, communicate about, navigate to, organize, record, or join an independently controlled activity. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SportsPal is not liable for:
- the acts, omissions, identity, statements, content, safety, qualifications, or conduct of users, Organizers, venues, merchants, or other third parties;
- injury, illness, death, property damage, theft, loss, cancellation, non-attendance, transport, disputes, or other events arising from a user-organized activity or offline interaction, except to the extent caused by SportsPal’s own non-excludable responsibility;
- reliance on User Content, a route, GPS, map, weather forecast, direction, calendar entry, notification, rating, recommendation, badge, pass, QR code, venue, or gear suggestion;
- an off-platform payment, contract, refund, product, service, or dispute between users or with a third party;
- unauthorized access caused by your failure to protect credentials or devices; or
- loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when this agreement was formed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SportsPal will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, reputation, anticipated savings, or data, except where such loss is a legally recoverable and foreseeable consequence for a consumer.
For a user acting in a business or professional capacity, SportsPal’s aggregate liability arising from the free Service during any twelve-month period will not exceed the greater of €100 or the amount that user paid directly to SportsPal for the relevant Service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. This monetary cap does not apply to the non-excludable liabilities listed in the first paragraph of this section.
For consumers, liability is limited only to the extent permitted by the mandatory law applicable to that consumer. No contractual cap in these Terms replaces a higher remedy that mandatory law provides.
34. Your responsibility for claims
You are responsible for loss directly caused by your unlawful conduct, breach of these Terms, infringement of rights, User Content, or organization of an activity.
If you use the Service in a business or professional capacity, or act as an Organizer for commercial or organizational purposes, you agree—where permitted by law—to indemnify and defend SportsPal and its operator, personnel, contractors, and service providers against third-party claims, losses, liabilities, penalties, and reasonable legal costs arising from:
- your User Content;
- your activity, club, tournament, goods, services, payments, participants, or data processing;
- your breach of these Terms or law;
- your infringement of another person’s rights; or
- your fraud, negligence, wilful misconduct, or unsafe act or omission.
SportsPal will give reasonable notice of a covered claim and allow reasonable participation in the defense. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by or imposes an obligation on SportsPal without written consent.
For consumers acting outside a business or professional activity, this section applies only to the extent permitted by law and does not create liability beyond loss caused by the consumer’s breach or unlawful act under applicable law.
35. Complaints and disputes with SportsPal
If you have a complaint or legal dispute with SportsPal, first email sportspalapplication@gmail.com with the subject “Formal Complaint.” Include the account email, relevant facts, supporting information, and the outcome requested. This informal step does not suspend a statutory limitation period or prevent urgent court relief. We will attempt in good faith to respond within 30 days.
SportsPal is not required to mediate private disputes between users, Organizers, clubs, teams, venues, or merchants, although we may take platform-safety or enforcement action.
Consumers may use any alternative dispute-resolution body available under mandatory law. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from using a competent court.
36. Governing law and courts
These Terms and the relationship with SportsPal are governed by the laws of Greece, without applying rules that would displace that choice, except that a consumer retains the protection of mandatory law in the country of the consumer’s habitual residence.
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer and procedural law, including the courts of your habitual residence where the law permits. SportsPal may bring proceedings against a consumer only in the courts permitted by mandatory law.
If you use the Service exclusively for business or professional purposes, the courts of Athens, Greece have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
37. Apple App Store terms
If you download or use the iOS application:
- this agreement is between you and SportsPal, not Apple Inc.;
- Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance, support, or claims relating to it;
- the license is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control and as permitted by Apple’s Usage Rules, including permitted Family Sharing or volume-purchase use;
- if the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund any purchase price paid for the app; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation;
- SportsPal, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims concerning the app, including product-liability, legal-compliance, consumer-protection, privacy, or intellectual-property claims, subject to these Terms and applicable law;
- you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app; and
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-related provisions after your acceptance.
Nothing in this section reduces rights that applicable law gives you against SportsPal or Apple.
38. Google Play terms
If you download or use the Android application through Google Play, this agreement is between you and SportsPal, not Google. Google is not responsible for the Service, its content, maintenance, support, or user claims. Your use of Google Play and the Android application is also subject to applicable Google Play terms. SportsPal remains responsible for the app to the extent required by these Terms and applicable law.
39. Export controls, sanctions, and anti-corruption
You must comply with applicable export-control, sanctions, trade, anti-money-laundering, and anti-corruption laws. You must not use, export, re-export, transfer, or provide the Service where prohibited, to a prohibited destination, or for a prohibited end use. You represent that you are not prohibited from receiving the Service under applicable sanctions.
40. Force majeure
SportsPal is not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, wildfire, epidemic, war, terrorism, civil disorder, labor disruption, government action, utility or internet failure, cyberattack, app-store action, third-party infrastructure failure, or emergency measures. This does not excuse obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded, and SportsPal will take reasonable steps to reduce avoidable effects.
41. Assignment and transfer
You may not assign or transfer this agreement or your account without SportsPal’s written consent. SportsPal may assign this agreement in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, change of legal form, or sale of all or part of the Service, provided that consumer rights are not reduced and notice is given where required by law.
42. General legal terms
These Terms, the Community Guidelines, and applicable feature-specific terms form the agreement concerning use of the Service. They supersede prior terms on the same subject from their effective date. The Privacy Policy separately governs personal-data processing.
If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent or, where appropriate, severed; the remainder will continue. For consumers, any ambiguity is interpreted as required by applicable consumer law.
Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. A waiver must be explicit and applies only to the specific matter stated.
Section headings and summaries aid readability and do not limit the operative wording. The words “including” and “includes” mean “including without limitation.” Electronic records and communications may be used where law permits.
No person other than you, SportsPal, and Apple solely for Section 37 has a contractual right to enforce these Terms, except a permitted successor or assignee.
43. Language
These Terms are written in English. SportsPal may provide translations. Users in Greece must also be given access to clear Greek-language terms as required by applicable Greek consumer law. Where mandatory law requires a local-language version to control, that law applies. Otherwise, if a translation conflicts with the English version, the interpretation that preserves mandatory consumer rights and most closely reflects the English meaning will apply.
44. Contact and legal notices
General support, legal notices, safety reports, intellectual-property notices, Digital Services Act communications, and appeals may be sent to:
